In 1987, two Chicago-area sisters, Lyn Cook and Lorraine Svec, and their husbands Mike and Jan, realized a dream; Together they purchased the beautiful Belle Aire Mansion Guest House on the outskirts of Galena. With their families, they moved to Galena and began doing what they really wanted to do: providing gracious and comfortable lodging for guests traveling to Galena for a relaxing get-away.

A year later, Lyn and Mike moved into a Queen Anne home in downtown Galena where they opened Brierwreath Manor Bed and Breakfast. The Svecs continue to run Belle Aire Mansion. The families now operate "Sister Bed and Breakfasts," presenting to visitors a choice of Belle Aire's country pleasures or the convenience of in-town lodging at Brierwreath.

For nearly twenty years, Lyn and Lorraine have shared their lovely homes with their guests. Dedicated innkeepers, they take pride in their businesses and enjoy welcoming travelers to the Best of Both Worlds
